The architect for the Signature Lux project is Jo Noero of Noero Architects. The Engineers, de Villiers & Hulme. The original building on 24 Alfred Street, a warehouse was designed by Ernest Seeliger in 1901. Jo Noero designed the conversion to hotel space. Metal Windows supplied specialized fire-resistant steel frames glazed with made-to-order, sandblasted Georgian Wire Plate laminated glass between inner guest-rooms and corridors on 5 floors. Custom made round steel port-hole window overlooking the Waterfront. We also supplied the Entrance – Bronze aluminium double front doors with an arched top.
Situated at the entrance to the Waterfront in Alfred Street, it is adjacent to the Silo District incorporating the The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA).
